Alexander

Well here is an update to Alex. We were going to be doing surgery for him to put tubes in his ears, but the Dr., Dr. Park wanted to put in a little hill (not knowing the medical term) in the back of his mouth because he does not close his palette all the way so that is why he doesn't talk very good. He stuck a camera up his nose and down his throat to see what was going on. He was such a good boy and didn't move. They could not believe how good he sat still. Of course Alex didn't talk so the Dr. didn't really know what to think. If he were to put that "hill" in his throat then he MIGHT! talk better. The Dr. also didn't know how BIG he was going to have to make it either. So he would have been in surgery for 1 1/2 hours. I called the Dr. today to see if I could talk to him again and he said to see him back in 6 months and they will do the scope again. I was so glad that the Dr. talked to me when he was in the middle of surgery's. He wants me to work with his speech teacher and see if she can do some exercises to get the palette to move. The Dr. told us that if we plug his nose then we should be able to notice a BIG difference in his speach. He plays his recorder and harmonica much better when his nose is pinched. His speach is better too. I think that means that he will need to have the surgery. I guess that we will have to see in 6 months. The Dr. also told us that he has been having a sinus infection for about 6 months. We had to give him some medication and then we will have to see how he does. If he gets it back then the Dr. says that we will have to give him some mre nose spray. I love my little alex and would not chage him for anything.

Win It Forward!

(I got this idea from my friend's blog. I thought it was a super fun idea! So I'm playing along. Below is what you'll copy and paste onto your own blog should you chose to participate:)

How lucky are you? I double dare you to accept this challenge. This game involves a few of my favorite things: handmade goods, creativity, and gift-giving. Here are the instructions: The first few people to leave a comment on this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!

2. What I create will be just for you.

3. It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)

4. You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be photography. It may be a bracelet or a hair bow. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first few people who do the same on your blog. The first few people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it.

Oh...#6...make sure I know how to contact you! ;)

POOR BOY :(

So I put Alex to bed last night around 7:40. I gave him some medicine when he was in bed. When I went to check on him at 11:00 he was so stuffed up that he was having a hard time breathing. He slept until 7:40 the next morning when he came out to get breakfast I then noticed that his eye was slightly swollen. I knew that he then had so much snot that he could not get it out. I gave him some medicine after he had a bath and got dressed. His eye was back to normal. Can I just say that FRIDAY IS NOT COM MING SOON ENOUGH! I hope that he will not keep having this problem. I had to call his teacher and tell her what was going on because when he has to miss a day of school he will just cry and not want to go that is how he was today because he didn't go on Thursday because his nose was running like a river. I told her that if he didn't come today then he would have to miss Thursday for the same thing too. she said that if he was not running a fervor or was not tired then he could go to school. YEAH! that is what I wanted to hear. I had to bribe him to go to school with out yellow. I told him that I would give him a homemade roll before and after school if he went with out yellow. I am glad that he agreed to doing it. I hope that he will get over this nose thing that he has. I thought that when we took the adenoids out 90% that he would be a lot better, but that does not seem to be the case.

More Unanswered Questions!

I took Alex to the school to get his hearing tested and he didn't do so good. The lady doing the test told me that he can't hear every good in his right ear, but she believed that he had fluid in his right ear. She also told me that he is compensating in his left ear so he can hear better. She would make it fuzzy in his left ear and try to make a bird sound in the right ear and he would not respond, but if she did the same test with her talking instead then he would do ok. The normal range that they would like to see him hearing at would be between 20-25 and he was at 55 in the right ear. So we will go and see the ENT on Friday and see what he wants to do. I am thinking that they will have to do surgery again and put in a tube. I hope that if they have to do it again for the third time that he will finally be ok. I just want him to be able to hear so he can talk better I am wondering if that is why he cant talk better. I am also hoping that they can go in and scrap out his nose and see if he can stop the runny nose that he keeps getting. I sure am glad that we put a lot of money on the flex card if he has to have the surgery then we will not go broke paying for the surgery. LOL! Maybe one day he will FINALLY pass a hearing test who knows?
After we came back form the school we went to pick up the girls form the sitter we then went to the library and got the kids lots of fun books to read and I also got them some movies. They didn't want to leave I had to make them leave. They were being loud and a guy yelled shshshsh be quiet. I also check out a movie for me called "Once Upon A Summer". If you feel like you need a good cry this is the movie for you. You will love it! It was made by and LDS person so it is very uplifting. Now I am off to get ready for work and leave for work. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Gotta Love Having a Cold!

My son is sick with another cold how does this happen so much it is a good thing that we all ready had an appointment to take him to his ENT. I hope that he will give us some answers. I do feel bad for him when he is sneezing all the time and an inch of snot comes dripping out. I feel bad also because he has to miss so much of school and he all ready has a hard time going. When he misses school then the next time he has to go he will cry when it is time to get on the bus. One time I had to physically put him on and do up his seat belt. He is my special child and I would not change him for anything.
School is going much beater for him. His teacher Mrs. Andrea is doing a lot of great work for him and that makes me happy. She has made photos for him to point to when he wants something so that way he has to respond in some way, but he still will not allow her to touch him. His anxiety is to much and will tense up when someone touches him. He will how ever play hot potatoes with the other kids and teachers. YEAH!
