Life With The Family!

We took the kids to eat at In-N-Out. They had so much fun and wanted to go there for dinner and we told them that they were not going to go. They like the hats that they give out. I am Glad that Alex is feeling better now. Yesterday he could not keep any food down. I called the dr.'s office and asked them what I should do and they told me so we was able to get better and eat some food today. The kids think that there has to be snow for Santa to come. They also think that he has to come down the chimney. We have fun letting them believe it. It is fun that they know about Christmas this year.
We are still working with Alex and him not talking at school. I am going to ask his teacher again if and see if Lizzy and I can visit the class to see if he will talk. I am a little frustrated with his teachers because I do not feel like they care about being the teacher that they are only doing it because they have no one else to do the job. It is too bad that the government is making it toooo hard to graduate with a degree in Special Education. I guess that they just want to integrated kids into regular classes when they can't handle it.
My finger is doing a lot better. I can bend the bottom half, but not the top yet. I will be glad when to gets better so I can do things like I normally do. At least I was able to host for 3 shifts last week so I was able to make money.

Blankets for the girls!

Here is the blankets that I am making for the girls for Christmas. I hope that they like them. I think that they will. Lizzy has seen them and told me that the blanket it pretty. I told her that it was for Becca so she would not know that it was for her. Thanks to my mother in law is she is going to sew the edges for me because I do not have a sewing machine that works. They are going to look so cute on there beds. The other photo is a cup cake that I made at mutual with fondit frosting. It was fun to do, but I didn't really think that the frosting was all that good. So I will not be making a cake like that any time soon.

Sick :(

I am home feeling sick. I have a cough so I am trying not to talk because if I do I cough up a lung. I also have a sore throat and a slight headach , but I have a hard time just laying around when I know that that there are things to be done. My sweet Hubie took Lizzy to the dr.'s for me and let Alex go to. Then he is going to go and get me some medicine that I need. What a great guy! I just love him. I just have the baby and she is being good for me thank Heavens for that. I have been able to make a beef stew for dinner, do some laundry and dishes so while he is gone he can't get mad at me for not laying around so I can get better.

Alex's B-Day!

We had a fun time having a party for Alex and the extended family. We had a dinner with my brothers and Issac's brother and mom and step dad. It was fun. After dinner Alex opened his gifts and then we did cake and Ice Cream. He got lots of clothes, book, and a fire truck and he loves the fire truck. We love Alex and are Glad that he got to come to our house. He is having fun at school and is learning lots and has started making sounds at school so I think that he might be over coming his shyness. I really hope so, so they will know just how smart he is. We are STILL waiting to hear back from the Dr. to see if he has the cornella de langue syndrom. We are moving on to the next phase of having x rays taken of his hands. They are also going to test the whole family to see who has it and who doesn't. It will be nice to find out. He is getting smarter and smarter every day. He can say the all of the letters and count to 20. He can also name all the colors and shapes (even the weird hard one's). We are so proud of him and hope that he will continue to progress in life so he will be on track with his fellow class mates. I also hope that we can find out sooner than later if he has the syndrom so I can tell his teachers so they will know how to teach him in school. He is very loving to his baby sister and a BIG tease to other sister. At least she can body slam him if need be so when they are older I think that he will not be able to beat up on her.

Moab

Issac and I decide that we were going to go to Moab for our five year anniversary. We went to two parks Arches and Canyonlands. It was so beautiful how the rocks could form like that. With all the different colors. We had to go to both parks in one day because there was not enough time to see them in two days. The town of Moab is really old and cute. We stayed at the Moab Vally Inn and you could tell that it has not been updated for years, but that is the kind of town that it is. We bought some gifts for the kids. It was so nice of Issac's mom to babysit for us. It is so nice to be able to get away from your kids and enjoy some time with each other. With me working part time it was nice fore us to get some alone time. I hope you enjoy these picture. In the third photo you can see a road this is where the farmers use to take the cattle on and then they started mining in the 40's. Then in 1960 they decide to make the state parks.

Becca's 1 year birthday!

We had a fun time watching her eat the Ice ceam cake that I made for her. I forgot to take a picture of the big cake. I made butter cram cake and then I put butter pecan Ice cream on top of the cake. If you would like to know how to make and Ice cream cake just ask me and I will tell you. She had fun letting me help her open her gifts. She would get really happy to just open the cards. Thanks to of those of you gave her a gift she loves them all. We are so glad that she came to us. She is a very happy baby and does not get mad or cry about much. She can be sick or getting teeth and you would not really know it. She is learing how to do the army crawl. We took her in yesterday for her 1 year check up and found out that she is 3 months behind on her grose motor skills and her fine motor skills. She is in the 75% for her height and weighs in at 20 LBS. I have a big girl! The dr thinks that she and Alex have the cornella de langue syndrom so he wants us to talk to Alex's gentic dr. I guess that we will see. If she starts walking by her next check up then I will not worrie about her. The dr. had a medical student with him and he had him get a medical book and they talked about the two kids and what featurs that they have that would lead them to belive that they both have it. There was more things that they said about Alex then Becca. I guess that I will email Alex's dr and see if he has more news for me. Mabye we will be doing early intervention with Becca too. Only time will tell.

Please Mom!

Today I was watching the foodnet work Chanel and they were showing a commercial for Kraft easy mac. Alex said to me "Mom can we go to Walmart and buy some mac and cheese please mom can we" I told him no. He then came and sat buy me and said "Mom can I spank your butt please mom". I had to laugh at him he is talking so much and doing a great job. He will be back to school on Tuesday. He says that he is glad to be going back to see his teacher. He will enjoy the us ride too I think. That makes me happy.

I stink!

Today when I was getting Lizzy dressed she told me that I stink. I said I stink ya you stink Mommy. I had to laugh. I guess that I had really bad breath because she covered her mouth and nose. I had to laugh because it was so funny to see her cover her mouth and nose with her little hand.

Today is the day

We told Alex if he would go poop in the toilet then we would buy him "BIG" boy underwear. We took him to Walmart and let him choose the ones that he wanted. He decide that he would get Thomas and Cars. He was so happy. We brought him home and made him go potty and then we put on the underwear. He then told me when we were done that he had to go potty again. YA! How happy was I. Lizzy was sad :( that she didn't get to have her "BIG" girl underwear, but we told her to do the same as Alex, but she didn't so she doesn't get them yet.

A Few Weeks Ago.... We went to eat some lunch with Issac. We decide that we would go to a Toco Bell. While walking in a guy walked in behind us and held the door open and then said "oh are you having fun with grandpa today". Issac was holding the baby and I guess they thought that he was not the dad due to his gray hair. We had a BIG laugh about that. What could you say to the guy. OH these are our kids? We decided to leave it at that.

Ya I think I am making headway!

Today after lunch I told the kids that they had to go and wash up and the go to the bathroom before they took a nap. (Not that Alex takes a nap everyday, but we try so I can have some peace). After Alex was done washing up he went to go potty and deiced that he was going to sit down mind you that the toilet seat was up so I put it down so he could go I asked him if he had to go poop and he said that he did. Boy I never thought that he was ever going to stop going, but I was glad that he did it in the toilet and not in his pants that would have been a REALLY big mess for me to clean up.

I have to tell a funny story that happened at work the other night. We have this place where the wine is stored and they have 2 wine glasses that sit on the "wine hutch" to show us how much wine we should pour into the glasses. A lady (who was not all there meaning that she is mentally retarded(I am not trying to be rude I am just telling you about her)) picks up one of them and drinks it and then she picks up the other one and drinks it too. The funny thing is that one of them was red vinegar and the other one was vanilla syrup so it was not even wine. She drank them so fast I could not believe it. It had to of been so gross. I bet it only took her 30 seconds per glass to finish them off. Me and another guy just had to laugh about it. After we told the mangers they got a big laugh out of it too.

Potty Training STILL!

As you may know we are trying to potty train Alex and Lizzy. It is not an easy thing you think that your child would rather go in the toilet than in the diaper so they do not have to sit in it, but I guess not. Saturday while I was at work Issac asked Alex and Lizzy to go to the bathroom. They had not been in there for to long when Issac heard Alex say poo-poo. He is just barley tall enough to reach the toilet standing up. He decide that he was going to turn around and bend over so he could go poop. Luckily he was able to shoot his poop into the toilet by hitting the side of the bowl. BOY! was Issac glad that he made it in.

Our Happinings!

Well it has been a long time I need to do this more often. I just feel like I have so much to say and no time to do it. I have been reading many blogs and love to read them. It makes me think of things that I want to do on my blog. I took Becca in today for her 9 month check up. I can't believe that she is going to be one in just a few months. The dr. said that she was doing great. I am glad that she is now holding her bottle and feeding herself. That makes it easy for me. She loves all the food that she has been eating. She wants to eat all the things that he brother and sister eat. She feels left out if they get to have something and she doesn't. Lizzy has finally started to be nice to her baby sister. She likes to help feed her as does Alex. He likes to help her hold the bottle. Alex has finished his first year of school. It was SOOOO good for him he started talking at the end of school. How great for him. Lizzy will be glad to have her BIG brother home all the time. I have been taking the kids to the library and they LOVE IT! It is like talking a kid into a candy store and tell them that they can pick out whatever they want. I have to tell them that they can't have every book in the library. I also let them get a movie. They love Tomas and Strawberry Short Cake. As for me and Issac we have been trying to make an honest effort to go to the temple. We have been taking names that his mother has done. I feel good that we can do the names for her.

Bread/Rolls

Here are some bread recipes that I got from my sister that I just love to use. They are very easy to use and if you have a kitchen aid or a bosh then you can mix the bread in it then you do not have to kneed it for the 10 minutes like the recipes say.

Whole Wheat Bread (Really Half white and Half Wheat)Prep: 35 min Rise: 1 hr 50 min Bake: 45 min2 loaves 16 slices each

3 cups whole wheat flour

3 to 4 cups white flour1.

Mix whole wheat flour, honey, shortening, salt and yeast in large bowl. Add warm water. Beat with electric mixer on low speed 1 minute and medium for another minute. Stir in enough white flour, 1 c at a time, to make dough easy to handle. Place dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead 10 minutes or until dough is smooth and springy. Place dough in large greased bowl and cover loosely. Let rise for 40 to 60 minutes. Dough is ready when indentation remains when touched. Gently push fist into dough to deflate. Divide dough in half and shape into loaves. Place in greased pans, cover and let rise about 40 minutes. Position racks so pans will be in center of over. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. They will be deep golden brown and sound hollow when tapped. Brush loaves with butter and cool.

The Surgery Went Well YA! :)

This is Alex before his surgery. He was loving to play with that toy. I was trying to ask him if he know what the #"s were. There was a 2-4, but he didn't really get them right, but that is OK. So here is the storie about what happened. We took him to the room to be checked in and when we were getting him dressed in his surgery clothes I found out that he had wet his pants. I had only changed his pull up 2 hours before and I had taken him to the potty so I was wondering how this could have happened. I had only brought 1 pull up and no other changed of clothes so they told us that they would take care of us. He went such a brave little trooper and didn't cry at all when he had to leave to have the surgery. He just rode away in his wagon kissing his "YELLOW". When I went to see him he was crying, but was happy to see me. When he would stop crying it would cause his oxygen level go down so I would have to put oxygen by his mouth. We came to find out that Alex and I would be spending the night. Boy was I glad about that. I was worried that he would have some problems in the night and I would not really know what to do. The hospital was so nice they went and found me some scrubs and socks to ware to bed because they thought that I would not want to ware my jeans to bed and I was waring flip flops. They also gave me so pull ups that Alex could ware. I would have to say if any one has a child that needs to have a surgery then I would have it done there. Everyone was so nice to me and Alex. I guess I should go back to the day before. I was waiting for the phone call to come and at 4:32 when it didn't come I called and they told me that he was not on the list I wanted to cry. They ended up going down and talking to the dr. and he said that he would do it at 6:00 P.M. OH! happy was I. I could not thank Dr. Albert Park enough. He is recovering great. He loves the Ice Cream and he still is eating other foods too. I feel bad when he cries because he wants to go outside, but he can't. Thanks for all of your prayers I know they were a BIG BIG help. I felt calm when I was waiting to see him. I only hope that there will not be any more surgeries in the future for him.

New Surgery Date! YEA!! ;)

Alex is going to be having surgery on Thursday. They were going to do it on the 18th of next month, but I called them today and asked them if there was any way that they could move it up. I was afraid that he might get sick again and then he would not be able to have the surgery then. They have told us before that if he has a clod then they can't do the surgery so I wanted to do it when he was feeling better. Please keep him in your prayers that the surgery will go well and that he will get better and not be sick all of the time.

Surgery # 5! :(

Well we took Alex to see his ENT and he told us that he would have to have surgery again. The last time that they put the tubes in his ear it left a hole so they are going to go in and repair it. They will be taking some of the skin on the back of his ear to do the repair. He also keeps getting strepp so they are going to take out his toncles. Plus they are really, really BIG. They are also going to remove his adnoids. It may help so his nose does not run all of the time. They will only be able to remove 90% of the adnoids because the dr said that he would be getting to much air and that he would not be use to getting that much air in so he would have a hard time speaking and everyone would have a hard time understanding him. We were going to have the surgery on the 18th of May, but I called the surgery scheduler back to see if they could get him in sooner. I hope that they can because I do not want to have him get sick again and then have them tell me that he can't have the surgery because he is sick.

Kids OR Purse What Goes In The Car First?!

Tuesday morning around 10:00 A.M. I deiced that I would go to Albertsons to get some milk because I had a coupon to get free milk. While I was there I went to the Wells Fargo Bank to cash a small check. Alex was at school so I only had the girls with me. I went to the van to load the girls and the milk and left and drove a little ways and then I realized that I didn't have my purse. When I went back I found that it was gone. I went into the store to see if someone had turned it in of course I know that it was not going to be turned in, but I thought that I would ask anyway. I ran to the bank to cancel my debit card. I know this may be hard to believe when I could not find my purse I cursed. Lucky I forgot to bring my phone with me so that was not taken. I ran home to started calling all my credit card companies to tell them that my purse had be stolen and to call the police. Unfortunately the store camera's are broken so they were not able to look and see who took the purse. The police think that the person that took the purse was watching me and when I was putting the girls and milk in the van they came and took the purse. They tried to go to the Lowes and spend 234.00 on one of my cards, but I was too fast for them they we unable to use the card. I had reported stolen when they tried to use it. The police tried to talk to Lowes to see if they would let them view a camera and see if they would be able to reconize the face on the camera., but they were not being very nice they got mad at the police and ended up hanging up on the officer while he was triying to talk to them. The police said that they are going to try one more time to see if the Lowes will let them view the tapes.
Can I just say what a pain it is when you do not have a birth certificate or a social secerty card you will have a hard time getting a new licence. You can take in a old tax form and your baptism record in and they will issue you another one. Yes I had my SS Card and all of my kids in my wallet so I had to call my OB and ask them to write a letter saying that I was a patient, my birthday, and have the dr. sign it. I had to do the same for the kids. I just thought that I would put all of this on my blog so you will know what to do if the same thing happens to you. On a positive note Issac is sick again with Bronchitis so I had to go to Maceys and get his medications and they asked me for my preferred card I told them what happned and they asked me how many times I had filled the card so they gave me a gift card to Maceys. If you fill your perscription at Maceys ten times then they will give you a gift card for 10.00 so I thought that it was nice of them to do that for me.( It is not good that Issac is sick, but that they gave me the gift card) So do you worry about getting you kids in the car OR putting you wallet in the car first!

Is this an aprils fools joke?!

Who said that it could snow. Last time I checked it was supposed to be getting warmer didn't the ground hog see his shadow? I guess that we could use the snow, but do we need it to be so cold. I guess that my family will never get better. For those of you who do not know we have all been sick. Issac went to the dr to find out that he had bronkidus, strep, and an ear infection. How Lucky for him! In the process of him getting sick I Lizzy was running a fever and didn't want to eat so I took her to the dr. and he told me that all that she had was a cold. That was 2 weeks ago I took her in Yesterday to find out that she now has an ear infection. I ended up having to take Becca to the dr 10 days ago because she had a bad fever. I would give her some medicine and then 2 hours later she would end up being right back ware so started. She ended up having a ear infection and 2 eye infections. The next week I ended up taking Alex to the dr to find out that he had ruptured his ear drum because of a bad ear infection. The dr told me that he had a lot of puss in his ear and in the other on he ended up having some puss in it too, but it was not as bad. He also told me that he has a hole in his ear and if that does not close up by next Wednesdays then we will have to take him to his ENT. He may have to have surgery #5 to close the ear up. How fun for him! I have been lucky I have been the only one in the family not to get an ear infection, but I have had a stuffy nose for 2 weeks now. I guess this is the year to be sick in our family. Becca is now 7 months and she feel asleep in her saucer yesterday so I had to put it on the blog because it was just too cute.

Home Inprovments

Here are the photos of our house that people have been asking me to take I am sorry, but they are blurry and I do not know why. I came home from work to find out that Issac had torn down the wall that led to the downstairs. We had talked about doing it for a year, but we had not done it. We knew that it would help us when we had the fire going to heat the upstairs and it seems to have helped. I deiced that I would paint the kitchen. We had been talking about painting the kitchen I told Issac that I thought that Blue would look good and he said as long as you were to do a baby blue. He also told me that he didn't want to paint the kitchen for a year. Little did he know that I had paint sample and was deciding on what color that I wanted. Needless to say Issac came home from work to see the kitchen a mess and the walls painted blue. We wanted to get the house done before Mom, Dad, and Barry came to our house before Barry got married. We had 2 weeks to do the wall and 3 days to do the kitchen. Needless to say I stressed out Issac very much. He was worried that he would have to paint the kitchen I told him that this was my project and he didn't have to do anything. I think that the blue makes the walls POP and I think that it looks really good with the brown. I also think that it brightens up the kitchen because the walls were a dingy white.

A Week Of Sickness

It all started on Friday when I took Lizzy to the Dr. with a fever, a cold, and a sore throat. They thought that she was going to have strepp, but she didn't. Becca was sick on Monday with a fever and then she started getting a cold. Then the next day the fever went away. Then she jsut kept getting worse. On Thursday night she kept getting a fever and I would give her medine and she would keep getting in back after only a few hours. I was finaly able to get her into the dr the next day and found out that she had an eye infection in each eye. Also she has an ear infection. She is feeling much better now. I am so glad that there are dr.'s out there to help you when you or your kids are sick. Alex has also been having a cold too. He didn't get to go to school this week becuase of his cold. We took him to see the genetic dr. a few weeks ago and we didn't find anything new out other than they want us to go and see more and more Dr.'s. We are going to wait until we know if he has Cornella de Lang Syndrom. The pedatrician seems to think that he has the Syndrom and he would like to have us take Beeca to see a develoment pedatrician with Alex because he thinks that Becca is following in the footsteps like Alex, but I think that she is ok. We took her in for her 6 month check up this month and he told me that. We are still going to wait and see if Alex has the syndrom first before we do anything. The dr. was worried because Becca with not play on her belly so she is not rolling over like a 6 month should be.

No Answers For Me

Well there has been a lot going on lately. The kids are groing like weeds. The other night I was up feeding Becca and Alex got up and was crying that he had a hurt legg. I finished feeding the baby and tried to give him some medicne, but he would not take anything so I made him go back to sleep. I had been a sleep for one hour when Lizzy fell out of bed so I got up and put her back into bed. An hour later Becca was up feeding and Alex came out and was crying again. I finished feeding the baby and then I forced Alex to take some medicne and he want back to sleep. I was then woken up two hours later and feeding Becca. You could say that I was tired the next day. I then called the dr to have them see Alex. I told them that I thought that he had strep again because he had, had a runny nose for over a week. He ended up having strep again for the third time since November. Then I ended up talking to the dr about the test that he was having to see if he has Cornella-de Lange Syndrome. The dr asked me if I had heard anything yet I told him that I had not. He then told me that the older that he gets the more he looks like he could have it. We ended up talking about it for a little while about it. I ended up e-mailing his other dr and he ended up e-mailing the dr who was doing the study and he asked me to take some photos of Alex and he also told me that he didn't have any answers so we have to wait longer to see if he has the syndrome. I wish that I knew if he had it or not it had been over a year since they took his blood to be tested. I guess that I can wait longer if I have allready waited this long.

Becca 4 months old and Lizzy 2 years old.

Well we have been giving Becca some rice cereal and she has been able to keep it down. I hope that when we go to the gastrologist that they will be able to give us some more info and he will be able to tell us how we can help her keep her food down and we will not have to go through so many dirty clothes. She has her good days and her bad days. She is up to 12.5 LBS. Lizzy had a fun second birthday! She loves her sunglasses that her Aunt Amie gave her. We are tying to potty train Alex and Lizzy. Lizzy started wanting to do it first and she help Alex to want to go, but now she dosen't want to do it anymore even if she can have princess underware. Alex likes going part of the time. They like to put a sticker on there chart.

Baby Becca

Becca is now 4 months old. She is learing that she has hands and likes to stick them in her mouth. She talks all the time and likes to smile. She has been sick with the stomach flu and then she got sick again and it worried me that she had only been feeling good for 3 days and then she started throwing up again so I took her to Primarie Childrens Hospitle so I could find out what was wrong. They told me that she had the stomach flu again. I was worried that she was going to be loosing weight and she only weighs 12 LBS., but she seems to be getting better so that makes me feel better. She is truly a joy in our family and it at times is sad to think that she will be my last baby.
