Alex Surgery # 5!
Ok so I always load these photos wrong. You will have to scroll all the way down to see what I am talking about so I do not tell the storey wrong. This is me and Issac waiting to go back and have Alex weighed and changed in his clothes. Once he changed his clothes he knew what was going to happen. He tried not to cry, but he didn't. We then moved over to the other room. He then found some other toys to play with and that made him happy. We thought that we would be going back in about 30 minuets, but found out that we would have to wait about 1 1/2 hours because the Dr. still had to do another surgery. There was a little boy who had accidentally eaten something so he had to wait to have surgery. He wanted to color so pictures of Thomas and wanted me to color with him. When the surgery was all said and done he did a good job. The Dr told us that we could go and see him in about 20-30 minuets, but we ended up waiting for 45 minuets. On our way back to see him we saw the Dr. he was just leaving. When we got back he was sad and wanted Issac to hold him, we had been back there for only 10 minuets when he was throwing up blood. It was like a BIG bubble came out and then popped in the tray. The nurses were worried so they paged Dr. Park and he said that he would come right back. What a great Dr. he had just left, but he was going to come back WOW! Can I just say that I love, love this Dr. He was able to suction him out and find out that he had trown up old blood. He did end up throwing up two more times that night. He was also having a hard time breating so we had to have oxygen by his face for half of the night. I was only able to get about 3 hours of sleep that night. The next day the Dr. cam to see how he was doing and he was not doing to good so he told me that they were going to admit him into the hospital that he would be going up stairs. The only problem with that is that they didn't have a bed for him at the time. We were not able to move up stairs until after 4 that day. He did end up throwing up some mac and cheese later in the day. This made him not want to eat or drink because he thought that he would throw up again. I had to tell him that he would be ok because they had been giving him some medication that would help him not to throw up even thought they had given it to him in the past and he did throw up. He was VERY tired this day too so he would be in and out of sleep for most of the day I think that is another reason that he had to stay another day. The Dr came by the next day and told Alex if he didn't drink that he would not be going home. We told him that if he would drink then he could go to the "play room" and play with the toys. That seemed to work. He would drink and then we would let him play and then we would send him back to the room to drink some more. I had my sister in law Sara bring the girls to see us because it had been two days and Lizzy was crying on the phone because she wanted to see me. We then were told that we could go home. How happy were we. I did have Alex sleep with me for that night. He is doing ok now. I am still having a hard time getting him to drink as much as I would like him too. He is such a strong boy and I love him so much and hope that this will be the last surgery for a long time. I was mad with my self because while he was in the hospital I forgot to give him his Nasonex and then he go a runny nose. The boogers automatically turned Green how fun for him. LOL!
I took Becca and Lizzy to the Dr. yesterday to find out that they think that Becca has allergies too. She is taking children's clarition because she has had a runny nose/ spotty troute for about a month now. They said that nothing was wrong with Lizzy, but becuase herboogers were green and she had been stuffy for two weeks and Becca was sick she would be getting some medication too. I just keep thinking that one of these days none of my kids will be sick. Hope all is well with everyone. I would also like to thank my mom for comming to watch my girls so we could have the surgery. I could not have done it with out her. Thanks mom!
P.S. I for got to say that Alex would like it if I would sleep in the bed with him!

Alex really is a strong little boy! And to be so young and know what's going to happen when you change your clothes at a hospital. Wow. I hope this is his last surgery and he won't have to worry about needing to change his clothes at the hospital any more. Glad to hear he's doing well. Have you noticed a difference in his speech yet?
